I’m an undergraduate researcher with a strong interest in neuroscience, neuroengineering, and understanding how the nervous system functions at both the biological and behavioral level. I’m particularly drawn to research because it gives me the opportunity to ask questions that don’t necessarily have straightforward answers and then develop creative, evidence-based ways to investigate them.
My research experience has given me an appreciation for both the exciting and challenging sides of the scientific process. I enjoy hands-on experimental work, learning new laboratory and analytical techniques, troubleshooting when things don’t go according to plan, and seeing how individual experiments contribute to a much larger scientific question. I’m also interested in the process of translating fundamental neuroscience research into approaches that may eventually have practical or clinical applications.
As I continue my undergraduate education, I’m focused on expanding both my technical skills and my understanding of neuroscience as a broader field. I’m especially interested in opportunities that allow me to work across disciplines, explore new research questions, and learn from researchers with different areas of expertise. Long term, I hope to continue pursuing research and contribute to work that advances our understanding of the nervous system.
Outside of research, I value creativity, curiosity, and having interests beyond the laboratory. I enjoy finding ways to bring some of that personality into the work I do, whether that means approaching a problem from an unusual angle, learning something completely new, or simply making the things I create feel a little more like my own.
